APE Season 1 is officially wrapping up, and it's time to collect what you've earned. Starting January 1, 2026, all participating traders can redeem their accumulated points through a flexible system designed to reward both immediate claims and long-term commitment.
Here's everything you need to know about claiming your rewards.
Two Paths Forward
When redemption opens, you won't be locked into a single option. Instead, you'll choose how to allocate your points between two distinct reward paths.
Option 1: Convert to APEX Tokens
Redeem your points for APEX tokens from the Season 1 reward pool. These tokens vest over five months, providing immediate value while supporting healthy token economics.
Option 2: Retain Points for APE Season 2
Keep your points and carry them forward to APE Season 2, where they'll accumulate with your new Season 2 earnings and qualify for boost rewards. Users who retain 100% of their Season 1 points will receive a 1.1× boost throughout the entire Season 2.
The beauty of this system is flexibility. You're not choosing one or the other exclusively. A simple slider on the redemption page lets you split your points however you see fit, whether that's 100% APEX, 100% retained, or any ratio in between.
Key Dates
The redemption window is tight, so mark these on your calendar.
December 28, 2025: Epoch 12 concludes and APE Season 1 trading officially ends.
December 31, 2025: Final point tallies are published. You'll see your Epoch 12 results and your total accumulated points for the entire season.
January 1, 2026, 8:00 AM UTC: Redemption goes live. The Season 1 APEX reward pool totals 20,000,000 APEX tokens.
January 1 to January 10, 2026 (8:00 AM UTC): This is your window to choose your redemption ratio. Use the slider to allocate points between APEX conversion and retention for Season 2.
After January 10, 2026, 8:00 AM UTC: The window closes. Any user who hasn't made a selection will automatically default to retaining all points for APE Season 2. Once this deadline passes, you cannot change your mind or convert Season 1 points to APEX. You'll need to wait for the APE Season 2 redemption rules.
How the Math Works
Your APEX allocation is calculated using a simple formula.
APEX Received = (Your Converted Points ÷ 69,000,000) × 20,000,000 Total APEX Pool
Points Retained = Total Points − Converted Points
For example, if you have 100,000 points and choose to convert 60%, you'll receive APEX based on 60,000 points while 40,000 points carry forward to Season 2.
Vesting Schedule
To support price stability and long-term token health, converted APEX tokens vest over five months rather than unlocking all at once.
Each claim becomes available at 8:00 AM UTC on the specified date. Once a claim date passes, you can collect that portion anytime.
January 10, 2026 8:00 AM UTC: Claim 50% of your converted APEX
February 10, 2026 8:00 AM UTC: Claim 10%
March 10, 2026 8:00 AM UTC: Claim 10%
April 10, 2026 8:00 AM UTC: Claim 10%
May 10, 2026 8:00 AM UTC: Claim 10%
June 10, 2026 8:00 AM UTC: Claim final 10%
Example Scenario
Let's say you earned enough points to redeem 100,000 APEX tokens, but you want to hedge your bets. You decide to convert only half, keeping the rest for Season 2.
Your claim schedule would be as follows, with each tranche becoming available at 08:00 UTC on the listed date:
January 10 8:00 AM UTC: 50,000 × 50% = 25,000 APEX available
February 10 8:00 AM UTC: 50,000 × 10% = 5,000 APEX available
March 10 8:00 AM UTC: 5,000 APEX available
April 10 8:00 AM UTC: 5,000 APEX available
May 10 8:00 AM UTC: 5,000 APEX available
June 10 8:00 AM UTC: 5,000 APEX available (fully vested)
Meanwhile, your retained points sit ready for Season 2 with boost multipliers applied.
What Comes Next
APE Season 2 is expected to launch in mid to late February on a new trading chain developed in collaboration with ApeX.
The more Season 1 points you retain, the larger your boost will be when Season 2 kicks off. Retain all of your points and you'll enjoy a 1.1× multiplier for the entire duration of Season 2.
The gap between seasons counts as a retroactive qualification period, so trades on ApeX Omni during this window will be eligible for Season 2 retro points calculation.
Any APEX tokens that users choose not to convert will be returned to the Treasury address.
The redemption period runs just 10 days, so make sure you visit the APE campaign page between January 1 and January 10 to lock in your choice. After the deadline, your decision is final.
Choose wisely, apes.
